Launching Your Campaign: A Guide to Notifications and Timing

Launching a campaign efficiently with Unwrapit requires strategic planning, especially when it comes to notifying your audience and internal resource planning. Effective communication can make the difference between a well-received campaign and one with a poor engagement rate.

Here’s how you can ensure your launch hits the mark.

1. How to Notify

When planning to notify your audience about an upcoming Unwrapit digital gifting campaign, focus on creating messages that are clear, engaging, aligned with your brand’s values and relevant to the gifting event. Multiple delivery methods can be used to maximize reach, depending on the recipient group and campaign type.

For example, for an internal appreciation campaign you could notify recipients via email and slack channel or via email and at the end of the quarterly town hall presentation. For an external audience, you can blend the digital gifting experience with a physical card or gift. For event gifting, a QR code can be created to prompt attendees to claim a gift during or after the event.

Personalization is key; tailor your messaging to resonate with your audience's values and preferences. The more relevant and thoughtful the approach, the more likely recipients will feel excited and engaged with the campaign, ultimately influencing the claim rate.

The Unwrapit team can help with language to include in the notification method, depending on what you are hoping to emphasize such as the unique and sustainable nature of digital gifting, highlighting that recipients can expect something meaningful and eco-friendly or the request to complete a survey in exchange for a special gift.

The notification method can be as personalized to the recipient as you’d like (or not!). Once recipients have been pre-uploaded to the experience, all they will require is the Campaign URL and passcode to enter. This means that the same email can be sent to all recipients without the need for a complex mail merge process or individual unique codes.

A sample notification email:

Hi {Recipient Name},

Thank you for being a part of the 123 Company community!
As a token of our appreciation for your recent contribution and hard work, we would like to invite you to enter this unique ‘Unwrapping Experience’.

Please use the following URL and login using your email address and the passcode.

A big thank you again and Happy Unwrapping!

2. When to Notify

Timing is crucial when notifying your audience about a campaign. The habits and preferences of your audience must be considered when choosing the exact time of day to notify; for example, early morning or late afternoon often sees higher engagement rates via email.

Be mindful of any holidays or busy periods that might distract your audience from your message, whether it be via email, slack, QR code or in conjunction with a physical gift.

3. Sending Reminders

Reminders are important to keep your campaign top of mind without overwhelming your audience. Send the first reminder a few days after the campaign begins, reiterating key details and the benefits of participation. Depending on the campaign's length, additional reminders can be sent mid-way through or when key milestones are approaching. Ensure each reminder adds value, such as new information, updates, or a countdown, to keep the audience engaged and excited without feeling spammed. The team will work with you to coordinate these reminders as they can increase the claim rate pretty significantly and quickly.

Unwrapit has the ability to send a reminder to any recipient who has not yet claimed their gift. These reminder emails are triggered via the Unwrapit backend and in conjunction with a reminder sent from your team, can result in extremely high engagement rates.
The Unwrapit Team will coordinate with you about sending these reminder emails about when to send them, what language to use and how to ensure maximum claim rates. These reminder notifications include a ‘magic link’ so that recipients can bypass the passcode section of the experience and directly claim their gift and engage.
