Circular Economy Leadership Canada (CELC) and the Circular Innovation Council (CIC) presented the first Canadian Circular Economy Summit in June 2023 in Toronto. This two-day Summit featured education and awareness pieces, outcome-focused workshops, networking opportunities and innovation brainstorming sessions.‍

Objectives

The team organizing the Canadian Circular Economy Summit wanted to include a sustainable and innovative way to thank speakers for their involvement in the 2023 Summit.

With some speakers traveling specifically for the Summit, it was important for gifts to be digital, as well as redeemable in their respective regions.

Solutions

Unwrapit created an experience using the Summit’s assets and offered a range of digital gift options. Among the gift options it was important to the Summit organization team to include Surfrider Foundation Canada as a charity of their choice.

There was also a Thank You form included for speakers to provide feedback about their gifting needs for future events.

Results

Given the nature of the Summit, sustainably-minded and digital gifts were important and clearly valued by the recipients.

The final claim rate was 83% with an even spread of claimed gifts across  donations, trees planted, subscription services and coffee/food gift cards.

There was great engagement rate on the campaign for both ‘high-fives’ given to the Summit organizers (27.5%) and answers engagement with the Thank You form (26%).
